Description
Hand Dyed Yarn – Blue Faced Leicester Double Knit Weight
About the yarn.
Bluefaced Leicester is one of the softest breeds of wool that is native to the UK and it is one of my favourite wools knit and weave with. It is a longwool fleece that is lustrous and silky. BFL takes dye colours clearly and conistently, which makes it ideal for a hand dyed yarn. It still retains it sheen when dyed and it gives the dyes a richness in colour.
This versatile yarn is fine enough to be worn next to the skin but it is also durable and hard wearing. As a yarn it is well suited to most projects that you would wish to undertake. The projects could include socks, sweaters and hats. It can also be used in weaving projects.
