Description
Hand Dyed Bluefaced Leicester Fibre for Spinning/Felting – Bluefaced Leicester Wool Top
This a hand dyed wool top of Bluefaced Leicester. It is one of the softest breeds of wool that is native to the UK and it is one of my favourite wools to spin with. BFL is a longwool fleece that is lustrous and silky. For this reason it takes dye colours clearly and conistently, which makes it ideal for a hand dyed fibre. It still retains it sheen when dyed and it gives the dyes a richness and depth in colour.
This versatile fibre is fine enough to be worn next to the skin but it is also durable and hard wearing. As a yarn it is well suited to most projects that you would wish to undertake. The projects could include socks, sweaters and hats. It can also be used in weaving projects.
